The trial of Benedict Jammeh, a former Director General of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDEA, and three top security officers of the agency is scheduled for May 13, 2013.

Jammeh, ex-Spokesperson Abdoulie Ceesay, former Director of Intelligence and Investigations Foday Barry, and former Head of NDEA West Coast Region Commissioner Yusupha Jatta, all of the NDEA pleaded not guilty to the remaining 45 criminal charges brought against them on Thursday.

It’s barely 72 hours, when Benedict and his co-accused denied the first 45 of 90 charges of economic crime, false publication, false information, abuse of office, and fabricating evidence.

After the May 2, 2013 not guilty plea, the High Court in Banjul, The Gambian capital, said the hearing will begin on May 13.

The former director general of The Gambia National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDEA, and a spokesperson of the same agency have denied charges of economic crimes, false information among others on Tuesday.

But accused persons only pleaded not guilty to 45 of of 90 criminal charges because the defence counsels request for an adjournment to attend other matters.

Ex-NDEA director Benedict Jammeh,  ex-NDEA spokesperson Abdoulie Ceesay, Foday Barry,  former director of intelligence and investigations at Holgam of the NDEA and Commissioner Yusupha Jatta, former head of the NDEA in the West Coast Region are facing 90 counts of economic crime, false publication, false information, abuse of office, and fabricating evidence at the High Court in Banjul.
