While Mbye Bittay, the 2nd accused is facing a single count of making preparation to do act with seditious intention.
They however denied any wrong-doing
“As I was driving together with the 1st accused, a pickup suddenly blocked our way,” said Baturu Cessay, the second state witness. “The 1st accused left the car and started running but was caught by security men.”
In his testimony, Ceesay said, an envelope was removed from the accused seat after he was caught.
According to him, all this happened after the accused knocked on his door between the hours of 2 to 3am to accompany him.
“I was taken to the NIA together with the 1st accused. There my statement was taken,” he said.
The case is adjourned to the 31 July, 2013, for the defense counsel, Ebrima Jah, to cross-examine the witness.
